22/365 All the good toys

Not a great day of photos.  It was super dark and dreary (hence the high ISO), but I still got a few snapshots of the boys. I did explore around my trial of Lightroom and figured out how to watermark.

f2.2
1/100sec
ISO 6400

  1. I really like this photo! I see you added a little bit of vignetting...it looks great!! Why did you choose so high ISO? I normally set ISO (shooting indoor) to 800 and try to have steady hands because ss is usually very low:) If I shoot with high ISO my photos become 'noisy'...
    Your baby is sweet:)

    1. Thanks, Moyca. You wouldn't know it because my ISO is so high, but it was really dark in my house. So, I chose to up my ISO rather than turn on the lights. I tried at a lower ISO, but it was still underexposed. I normally try not to shoot with such a high ISO and I also try to shoot more like f2.5 or 2.8 rather than wide open b/c I find I get sharper images, but I had to lower to 2.2 for this one. I didn't want to go lower with my aperture or shutter speed since my son is wiggly and I thought I'd get blur or miss my focus.

    3. Thanks for asking...seriously. I really want to know when there are things I can improve on and/ or consider changing.

  2. Wow I wouldn't have known the ISO was so high, it really doesn't appear noisy. And I read the above comments. I struggled today with shooting my little guy inside. I shot f/1.4 because it was nearing sunset and getting dark-ish, I didn't want to set the ISO too high but then, he was moving & I didn't want blurr....although the 1.4 caused some of that itself.....shooting inside is tough unless it's total bright sun!! (or a still subject, LOL!!!)
