66/365 Blueberry Face

Lately my goals have been to find good light and really pay attentiont to the light around me.  On days where there is just no light to be had indoors, like today, I am trying to use the self-timer more and work on getting focus.  I would like to get better at the self timer so at some point I can be in our family photos, too.  I will have to break down and get a remote, though.  Tonight's photo was tricky since D was pressing the shutter for me so I could give Baby A a bath.  He kept moving the camera slightly each time. Also, I did not mean to have my aperture so wide open, but I set up my camera in a hurry.  In a way, I'm a little surprised this turned out as well as it did.

  2. OK that face is adorable. And yes, the focus is really solid for such an open aperture. I purchased a remote on Christmas Eve because I wanted to have it Christmas morning, so I could be in shots. I need to figure out how to use it with my timer, though, because you could see it in my hand, despite trying to hide it. With the dreary/short days, plus being so hard to get outside, I'm thinking of trying to focus on improving certain aspects of my photos each day, too....I'm looking forward to taking photos in nicer weather with longer days & more light!!

  3. That is a great goal and super important element in the art of photography! Winter makes things a little tricky. I'm a homebody as it is, but winter is like 10 times worse! Haha. I bought my camera on ebay as a big package that came with a bunch of stuff like a tripod and remote...it's a simple infrared remote by Polaroid. Nothing super fancy and in the $10-$20 range so not something that's gonna break the bank but will still allow you to play. Just an idea! ;)
