Oh wow, how did you achieve the light in this one?? The top one especially?? It is gorgeous, and the look it creates with the subject is PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!! (No tripod on the fire shots, hand held with my breath held!!)
Thanks, Missy. The Mickey was sitting on a box at an angle a few feet from our bay window at sunset. I just angled until I got some good flare and had the just barely shining through on the side.. When I edited, I lowered the highlights considerably and upped the shadows and increased the blacks, clarity, and contrast to try to lessen the haze created from the strong backlighting. Also, I masked off Mickey and upped his saturation to try to help him stand out more.
