Baby A feels he has to clear his tray when he is finished eating.  Usually I have to stop him from throwing everything on the floor, but today the cup holder sufficed.

D found our old camera while I was cleaning out some things in a closet (that I haven't looked at since we moved.  Tip: don't move while pregnant).  It's broken and I was going to get rid of it, but he wanted it as his play camera.

D and I spent a while this afternoon rearranging his room, moving his bookcase and assembling a desk for him to color, draw, or build Legos during his daily quiet time.  Since that's what I spent a significant time on, I figured it should be my photo for today.

We went to see Planes: Fire and Rescue with the cousins.  It was D's first movie in the theater, and he really enjoyed it, (except that I had to keep one leg on his seat to keep it from closing up on him..hehe).

My husband's brother and family are in town visiting and tonight we took a family portrait.  It my first time using my new remote.  I ended up using my 18-55mm kit (my 50 wouldn't fit us all from where I had to shoot) and I don't know if it was me (although it was on a tripod) or just the lens but I was a little disappointed in the focus.  We should be in focus according to my dof calculations, and I feel we are since I can't find an area where the focus is more sharp.  My conclusion is perhaps this lens is just not as sharp as my 50mm prime when I view 1:1.  If you have any thoughts on the focus I'd love to hear them.

Oh, Baby A, I fear the time is upon us for your first hair cut (according to Daddy it's here and now or maybe even past).  As I observe your ever growing personality and vocabulary and this week's newfound proficiency in walking, I wish I could stop you in time for just a little while.  You are growing so fast!  So, forgive me when wisps of bangs graze your eyes and your hair gets scraggily on your neck; I am just not ready yet.

We took the boys to a local amusement and water park.  I would have loved some photos, but after much deliberation, I decided not to bring my camera. I have ordered a camera bag insert, but it hasn't come yet.  Hopefully I will feel better about taking my camera out and about once I have it (and hopefully it will fit in the diaper bag).

249/365 Power Outage and Shadow Puppets

I was going to take photos in the afternoon, but a thunderstorm rolled in and it got super dark around the house and the power went out.  This was my photo for the day of D making shadow puppets with a flashlight.  It was too dark for my lens to catch focus.  I guess I should have manually focused, but I wasn't thinking.

D is obsessed with any and all bugs lately.  We went to the Home Depot yesterday for the kids build day and the project was a bug house (to add to the other 2 he already has).  This cricket was today's find as he tried out his latest bug abode.

Baby A figured out the dishwasher plays a little tune when turned on.
